Post # 3 for the day - busy mom, standing baby

So, now that school has started, I am going to have to be a weekend blogger. Along with that, I am going to have to also be a weekend photographer. Oh well...Here is Casey in "baby jail" as Andy likes to call it. She pulled herself up to standing in her crib today.

She almost matches her sheets! HA HA!

Pictures of Casey - Labor Day Weekend 2008

p.s. - I promise the design on her purple onesie (under her bib) matches her little blue "shorty shorts". Regardless, she is sooo stinkin' cute!

Hanging out in my high chair...almost 8 months old!

My super hubby replaced the phone line today. I didn't even know that was possible, but he did it! Our internet has been out for a week! YAY, SUPER Hubby to the rescue!

So, thanks to ANDY, I have a video of Casey for you!

p.s. - My Aunt Ruby and Uncle Tommy bought her the cute outfit she is wearing. Now, Casey doesn't usually need a bib when eating, but this time was an exception...she sneezed peas (say that 5 times fast) all over the front. Well, it was cute for 3 hours. Thank goodness for Spray 'n Wash!

Busy, Busy, Busy!!!

Well, I have almost made it though the first real week of school! Getting up so early has been rough! Poor baby girl gives me this look of confusion as I tote her to the car and there is no sun in sight! I know she is thinking, "But MOM...I was sleeping!!!"

Casey loves day care, but is now having problems napping at home. She won't nap in her bed at day care. She only wants to roll around and play with her feet (what I rough life). So, they let her nap in her swing 2 times a day...ugh...it looks like I am going to have to get the swing into her bedroom! Can you imagine her being 16 years old and still swining for a nap! HA HA HA!

I promise to post pictures this weekend once Andy and I can find the camera...long story.

I am so excited about the 3 day weekend!

Have a great Thursday!

Day Care and Back to Work!

Well, we made it through our first week of work and Casey's first week of day care. She generally gives a guilt-filled cry when I drop her off in the morning and then has a fabulous day. Each day this week, they have commented on what a good eater she is. Heather would be so proud...Casey is up to 7 ounces in each bottle, a stage 2 fruit at breakfast, a veggie at lunch, a stage 1 fruit at snack and then a half a jar of stage 2 dinner at night. She is quite the piggie...and finally over 14 pounds! YAY! Oh, did I mention that we haven't taken her back for her 1 month follow up? We will put that on the list for next week.

Andy will be home with Casey all day tomorrow while I am up at school. I am glad they will have it open Saturday...so much still to do! Andy has his big football draft tomorrow. I hope he gets a decent team...damned fantasy football! I actually can't wait to take Casey over to Steve's this year. Steve and Michelle gave Casey a hand-me-down Dolphins wind suit and mom gave Casey a Texans cheerleader outfit. Plus, she is big enough to play with Marshall and Lilly!!! Last time we were over, Casey slept through the entire Super Bowl!

I am actually very excited that Andy will be home with Casey tomorrow. When she spends the day with daddy, she learns a new trick. The previous times Andy spent an entire day with her, he tought her to sit up on her own and to hold her bottle (we are still working on that).

That's all for now...

Jackie

p.s. - HOLY COW...Casey will be 8 months old SOON!!! Where has the time gone?

I never have to worry about leaving Casey with her Daddy...10 times out of 10, I get back home and this is what I ALWAYS find. This is Andy's favorite part about being a Daddy...

Bath and Playtime before Bed

Casey and I met Aunt Jamie for dinner tonight. Casey was really good, but after sitting in her car seat for 45 minutes, she was getting kind of fussy. I really wanted to sit her in a high chair, but they only had one in the entire restaurant and you could see how oily/sticky it looked from across the room! YUCKO!

Here are pictures of Casey after her bath. As you can see, the little stinker can reach the curtains (UGH). We may need to rearrange furniture in her room soon. Also, before bed Casey likes to roll around on our bed for a good 10-20 minutes. She likes to sit up and then fall over onto a pillow. Her latest obsession is trying to grab the wood design on our headboard...check her out up on her own! I didn't help her! It was funny to see her try to get herself up there in footed pajamas (with no traction on her knees or feet)!

The greatest part of my day: I went out to check the mail and met my wonderful neighbor, Mary Ruth. She always comes across the street to talk to Casey. So, Casey reaches her arms out to her. What normally comes next is that Casey will go to someone and then start crying...NOPE...she let her hold her for like 3 minutes and then held her arms out to come back! This is huge progress people!!! As many of you know, Casey smiles at anyone and shows a lot of interest in being held, but then starts to fuss! YAY Casey girl!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE SIS!!!

Happy Birthday MIMI!!!

I think she is 29...old lady! HA HA HA!

Christmas in August

Part of an e-mail from my Aunt Ruby:

"I wanted to tell you that a friend of Margie's baby cannot drink similac with iron so they gave me eleven cans of the powder for you. So don't buy any. That should hold her through the end of the time she will not be drinking formula."
Seriously, it is CHRISTMAS in AUGUST!
Ho Ho Ho!

The picture below is of Casey passed out after giving her Uncle Tommy a run for his money today when he baby sat. She is such a stinker...she better learn to be sweet or her great grammy will have to "give her a pinch"!

p.s. - look at all her hair!!!

Let me out of this Jail!

Casey in baby prison!

I love walking in to get Casey after she is up from her nap. Seeing her on her knees with her little face pressed up against the "bars" is just too funny! She is also very determined to untie one of the bows. I think we need to take down the bumper now!

Tub Time!!!

Pics of Casey in the tub!

p.s. - Meredith, I have been to Target like 3 times and keep forgetting to buy that silly duck tub!

Pictures of Casey - cutie patootie!

I went to go pick up pictures of Casey from Target today. Again, Target portrait studio on Fairmont - CRAP! Don't even go if it is free. Here are two pictures I did buy of Casey. We just took some really awesome ones last week at another studio (and I spent WAY too much money) and I will post them when they come in next week.

She is so stinkin' cute!!!

Meteorologist Casey Crawford and the anti-prunes movement

So, Casey loves being outside. I try to take her outside every day. Even in this heat, we go and stand under the big tree in our front yard. She likes to watch the branches and leaves sway in the wind and to pick the grass. She will be one of those kids, like me, who picks weeds for her mom. Today, we stood on the porch as it started to rain. When it started to pour, I thought she would be scared by the thunder and lightning...nope! Maybe she will be a meteorologist.

Prunes..why did you people not tell me that I should NOT experiment with prunes? Casey loved them, but I have changed 5 "number 2s" today and it is only 5pm! No thank you prunes...we are not buying what you are selling!

Funny Videos of Casey!

Casey is 7 months old today (August 3) ! WOW has time passed by super fast!

I have 2 videos for you of Casey - One is of her "talking" to Andy. This could be loud so make sure you adjust your volume. You will hear Andy whistle and then Casey squeal back to him...this seriously went on for 5 minutes. They so this almost daily. Cute but very loud! The second is of her eating. She looks so exhausted! If you listen carefully, she kind of hums when she eats something she really likes.

p.s. - We do not live in a cave! Our house seems so dark!!!

LOTS OF TEARS AND EXCITEMENT!!!

First, I have to say that I love the show Hopkins. It is such an amazing show...this is a REAL reality show! Last night, they brought in a 3 month old premature baby. This was the most gorgeous little black baby I have ever seen! They brought her into the PICU because a case worker had suspected that she had been abused. The baby had cracked ribs and had head trauma. Luckily all you could see was her beautiful eyes, but tons of tubes and monitors. They said that these kind of cases rarely see much success...and then I went to answer the phone and didn't see what happened. Last night at midnight I frantically logged onto hopkins.abcnews.com to see if I could watch the episode. Andy HATES it that I watch this stuff, specifically if it involves babies. This morning I was able to log on and watch the part that I missed, which was only like 1 minutes...the little girl made it through the night and was showing huge improvements. Boy, did I snot crying like a baby. Thank you God for giving this beautiful baby girl a chance!

ON to the REALLY AWESOME NEWS - Casey crawled today!!! I DIED!!! She moved her left arm, then caught up both legs, rather than going face first into the carpet, and then she moved her right arm! YIPPEE SKIPPY!!! Happy happy joy joy!!!

p.s. - Casey hates peaches...we will try a different fruit tomorrow and then go back to peaches in a week or two. Kiddo prefers peas to peaches - go figure!
